ANTARCTICA

Antarctica is not a place you see, it’s a place you feel.

I don’t have many photos. I don’t have many words.

I usually write about people but this place only has ghosts. Ghosts and stories and myths and legends of the explorers of the Heroic Age. Much has been said about the men who lived and died here. The stories of hardship have been told.

So as I stepped into the historic huts I imagined their camaraderie, I heard their conversations and laughter, I sensed their kinship and spirit of exploration, the joy in their extraordinary adventure.

I felt fortunate to be there and lucky to be going home.
